To honor ALL our veterans and, in particular, Medal of Honor Awardee USN (SEAL) Lt. Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, NY, who was KIA in Afghanistan, 6/28, 2005, Fusion SuperFit will observe limited hours (9:00 -11:00 am) on Memorial Day, 5/28/2018, and ask all attendees to join us in completing the “MURPH” WOD. This “Hero” WOD is both easy (technically) and extremely taxing (physically):
- 1-mile Run
- 100 Pull-Ups
- 200 Push-Ups
- 300 Air Squats
- 1-mile Run
*Traditionally performed with a 20-lb vest or body armor
This was Lt. Murphy’s favorite workout, which at the time he referred to it as “Body Armor”, hence the 20 lb vest or body armor as part of the WOD prescription. So, every year, athletes from around the world pay special tribute to him by joining together to complete what he started so that we all may endure. There are many variations for this WOD, depending upon your ability—just talk to your trainers about appropriate modifications and scaling to best complement your personal ability.
PLEASE JOIN US IN OUR HUMBLE TRIBUTE TO THIS IMPORTANT HOLIDAY AND MURPH’S ULTIMATE SACRIFICE!!
